Hi

I Received my new SeaGate 3Tb Barracuda. I have carved up the volume to 3 Partitions.

Read somewhere it better to do full format rather than quick.

Just wanted to know if i could format them all at the same time or are you meant to do them 1 partition at a time? Does it make a difference?

Cheers

Never tried but if the OS/utility does let you you will be requiring it to check/write sectors simultaneously to 3 partitions on one drive. On that basis if you want to full format, doing the full drive and then re-partitioning and quick format will be the faster and lower maintainance option.

Yeah it took a an age so your suggestion was probably the better option.

Cheers anyway will know that for the next time.
