Ok guys, My Lian Li Alpha 550w is surprisingly arriving tomorrow which has made me extremeley happy! I thought it would be in december! So now my monitor is a MUST! as the build will be finished.

SPEC LIST:
i9 7980XE
64GB Trident Z RGB 3600
Asus Rampage VI Extreme
1050w Snow Silent PSU
HOF1080Ti
3x 960 Evo

Now I can easily game in 4k, so my theory is to match my TV and just game in 4k, But after a chat with one of the awesome CS reps from OCUK I am tempted to go to 1440p with a higher refresh rate and GSync.

So here's a few ideas on monitors @4k

Here are some 1440p we had in mind.

To add another caveate to the build, are there any with white bezels? Names will be fine.

I am worried about going to 1440p ultrawide due to many of the older titles I play not loving 21:9 aspect ratio. I am calling all the gurus here. To help my picky mind get set up!

I would definitely pick 165hz/1440p over 60hz/4k, as the higher refresh-rate creates a much more immersive and enjoyable gaming experience.

The main decision for these high-refresh rate monitors is either:
TN - (*worse colour accuracy, some colour banding issues, low pixel response times, weak black levels)
Or

AHVA/IPS - (*much better colour accuracy, slightly higher pixel response times, IPS glow, hit-and-miss QC)

For 27inch IPS, the ViewSonic XG2703-GS is currently seen as one of the better monitor choices (QC-wise) although all are much the same performance-wise - AOC AG271QG, ACER XB271HU or ASUS PG278Q.

For TN, I would recommend Dell S2417DG or Dell S2716DG (24 v 27inches). Both are great gaming monitors, low response times, neutral design. The S2417DG is arguably better for fast-paced gaming due to its smaller size.

There are no white 1440p G-Sync monitors available unfortunately. The nearest option is the Samsung CF791 - a 3440x1440, 100hz, 21:9, VA Quantum Dot monitor with FreeSync.

In Q1 next year two 4k/144hz G-Sync, IPS Quantum Dot, HDR monitors should release - ACER X27 and ASUS PG27UQ. These should combine the best of both worlds in a gaming monitor.

There should also be a 200hz 3440x1440p ultrawide available sometime next year - ASUS PG35VQ.

Agreed, I've tried both and really feel 1440p/165Hz is the ultimate sweet spot for now :)

Ultrawide at 100Hz just edges it out for me though, 100Hz is enough (combined with Gsync) and you get the extra screen space too

Ok - UPDATE - Still haven't chosen a monitor I really can't decide on a Monitor.

Now I have a 4k TV - The XE93 65 Inch so I can game in 4k whenever i fancy on the big screen when company is round.

But I'm torn between 1440p Ultrawide GSYNC is a must or a 4k Gsync Panel.

BUDGET £1000 Ht me
