Hey folks
So last night being the genius I am i managed to knock a pint of juice into the top of my shinobi case while playing a game. Power instantly went pop and we were in darkness tooknthenwhole thing apart and dried everything near the radiator.
Motherboard seems to be dead it has a green light but won't respond to the power button or when shorting out the pins. The board is a Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION ** it was bought as part of a bundle last year from ocuk.
Have tested the gfx card in an old pc and it's still giving a signal and booting fine so that seems to be ok.
At the moment I'm hoping the ram and CPU are ok but until I get a new board I'm not too sure.
If someone could spec me a new motherboard that is comparable with my 2500k as I'm not sure where to start these days. Also need a new power supply as that was filled with juice and it's about 4 years old now so time for a new one.
Motherboard needs to be able to take 2 gfx cards as I currently run 2 monitors and have a tv connected too have a 460gtx And a 8800gt. Unless its now possible to use the onboard graphics chip with an external card too ?
Long story short spec for a Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION ** replacement and new power supply. Also able to overclock the 2550k back to 4.6 would be great.
Looking at a Seasonic X-Series 660w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply currently unless there is a better one people recommend ?
