Hello fellow OcUK'ers,

I, in the last week purchased a new rig from Overclockers themselves and was very impressed by the speedy delivery and quality as always.

The image that follows is what I purchased.

Now, the build went great! However there is a few problems...

1\ The BIOS and Windows 7 64Bit only detect 4GB of RAM. When I looked at the memory it looked like it was compatible. When I enable X.M.P in the BIOS it wont start the machine. Do I have a compatibility issue?

2\ The LG monitor I bought turns on for a few seconds then goes off before I can even choose the language in the setup. The picture goes SO dim I can't navigate the menu's. Is this a brightness setting gone wrong or do I have a faulty monitor?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the fast response. I believe all 3 sticks work solo. I will check again just to be sure. I have put them into the "red" triple channel slots, Im sure this is correct. It baffles me!

You need to enable memory remapping I believe, which can be found in the BIOS. If that doesn't work, try the other 3 mem slots.
It might be a setting on the monitor, could be some sort of power saving feature enabled?

I've just checked the BIOS and can't find that option. When I set the memory to XMP, the extreme memory profile option appears but is greyed out. It still only detects 4GB =[

i'm sure you've tried other leads from pc to monitor and different output ports on the graphics card? not likely the problem but everything is worth trying

About the monitor I've just spoken to LG and they say to change my resolution with trial and error and that'll fix it. Memory wise, I'm still stuck for ideas =[

I've never updated the BIOS before, does it involve a reinstall? or is it just boot from it and away you go?

File format is .ROM

Sigh the update tool is 32bit only! Well that helps :<
