Finally got my PC running after a faulty psu installed vista 64 bit & the 2nd hard drive couldnt install the 8800 GTX drivers as it was saying something along the lines of "Vista not detected" and something bout "32bit uninstaller".. couldnt do much as i also couldnt get the internet working... so i kept trying for a good few hours and then suddenly in certain area's if i type anything i will get a 'not responding' for example, typing my ISP into the connect to.. it just locks up and i have to close the 'connect to' bit so i called it a day and turned the pc off

I decided to try again and i turn the pc back on but now its asking for me to "Activate Windows Vista" i cant do this online because i have no internet set up due to problems and i cant re-type my product key actually i cant type anything in there as soon as i type it locks up (not responding) but as its the activation bit i gotta re-boot to get it to unlock!!

basicually if i could solve the not been able to type anything i could possibly fiddle about and get somewhere abit more step by step!

thanks.

Don't know what youve done to it but it sounds like its detected a hardware change and thats why its wanting you to reactivate, are you trying to boot back into vista after a major hardware change without formatting?
I think you'd be best off starting from scratch with a clean install as youve probably got some conflicting drivers somewhere causing all the lockups

Ive got a Philips SNA6500, Ive tried everything it just wont install on this system so i've got a guy coming out soon to fix it as he doesnt charge much & it saves me from the stress lol!!

Only problem after that is my gfx card (8800 GTX) i keep getting the "Generic Non PnP Monitor On Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor

I managed to get the Monitor to go to Generic PnP Monitor but it stil says Standard VGA Gfx Adaptor, The drives from the cd wont install either!!

ive got bad luck with pc's lol
