Hi all i have recently installed CNCnet on my laptop in order to play red alert 2 yuris revenge as was trying to get it to run faster and smoothly on windows 10, i have downloaded and installed origin and downloaded red alert 2 from the ultimate collection i purchased then after struggling to get the game to run right i read about cncnet so downloaded it and it works great however i have a few questions.

you have to give administrator permission to use is that ok ?

i never had to link my origin account or anything so can i uninstall origin and the original version of yuris revenge that came from origin ? and only use the cncnet one ?

sorry for questions if stupid just not sure if linked in anyway ?

thanks Dean

Been a while since i looked at cncnet.

Admin permission is fairly standard on many applications, but be sure to only download stuff you trust from official sites. In this case from cncnet and not somewhere else.

You don't need Origin for Cncnet. But cncnet is a multiplayer launcher, not a single player game. So you'll still want the original game installed. You may get away with uninstalling Origin i suspect.

C&C remaster is on sale (£9) atm from Steam btw. C&C, RA1, and Tiberium Sun are freeware now as listed on cncnet however.

There's also Openra which is a stand alone installer. I'm not sure on progress of the RA2 mod, Romanov's Revenge, but i know it's still being worked on.

And there's Mental Omega which has single player and well supported too.
thanks for that info mate so seems legit, not really bothered about the single player as runs slow on origin game but through cncnet it is super quick with no lag at all just been practicing with skirmish lately great fun.

seen the other games you said listed on cncnet seems great, never played red alert 1 but will check out the remastered be good if remaster 2 and maybe add a few more units and buildings etc.

thanks again
