Few questions about SLI

I have a 560ti 1gb and want to add another for BF3 - few questions:

- will this setup be enough to play on ultra @ 1080p? (i7 920 3.2ghz)

- I know that it's ok to mix brands as long as it's another 560ti. If I add a 2gb card instead of a 1gb (mine is 1gb), will I have a 2gb memory configuration? Or will it be limited to the 1gb of the lower card?

- Can I run 3 monitors at one time?

Thanks

1) Yes - although probably some VRAM limitations on Ultra

2) Limited to 1GB - nVidia cards can get funny in SLI if you don't match the specs - I wouldn't get a 2GB card. Although this is what I've read - it may not be correct

3) Yes

You will need to use a 3rd party tool to make a 2GB card work with a 1GB card and you will still be limited to 1GB VRAM. Forcing 2 cards not intended to work together into SLI can have some odd results including noticeable microstutter (not usually a problem if its just VRAM mismatch tho).

If he's buying a new card though he may as well just buy a 1GB version. No point at all in buying a 2GB version in his situation. If he was upgrading from a 4850 or something then different story :p

As long as you dont use msaa you should be ok for ultra, but tbh youd be as well running on high. Game still looks good, but far less of a performance hit.

Thanks, I'll get the 1gb then

Do they have to be the same clocks? I currently have the N560gtx-ti. If I am unable to get this exact same model, can I just get any 560ti and make sure the clocks are the same in MSI afterburner?

It should be fine if you do. I just know some people have had some SLI problems with mismatching cards. I think they all resolved it so it's more just an FYI
