1. Does it come with it's own memory to save games on, or will i need to purchase one (core package)

2. Does the premium package have anything extra that the core doesn't other than 20 gig HD +extras (hd cable, head set, wireless controller etc)

3. If it does come with it's own memory, will i need to upgrade as i will be saving a lot of different games onto it in the near future.

4. Other than the 20 gig hard drive, is there any other reason really worth ~£100 to get a premium package over a core package.

Cheers peeps.

Hd is £70, the extra money for a premium is £70.

So you get the headset a wireless instead of wired pad, and you'd still have to buy a memory card if you want to save games.

Go Premium, core are pointless imo.

I would personally go for the premium, theres a lot of special offers on around and all of them that I remember seeing involve the premium and a couple of games or something. You will have to buy a memory card at least for saving games for the core, but can I ask if you plan on using Xbox Live? If so the premium definately. Same goes for High Definition TV as well, unless you're using a VGA cable.

1) No, you'd need either a hard drive or a memory card
2) Ethernet cable as well i think
3) It comes with the hard drive which you use to save your games on, and no I wouldn't have thought you'd need to upgrade it in the near future.
4) Its just better value for money with what you get, and you can get some really good bundles for 299 now.

If you dont plan on using the 360 to play online just get the core, but if you have the extra money the premium is worth it.

1. With the core you will not receive a memory card or hard drive.

2. Think its just those extras that you have listed. edit: ^Ripper is indeed correct, forgot about ethernet cable.

3. You will have to purchase a memory card or hard drive to save games on the core, hence why you should go for a premium.

4. If you bought the extras seperately, you will end up spending a lot more, DEFINATELY go for the premium, there are some cracking offers on at the moment :)

I'll echo going for a premium for the long term.

If you go for a Core, you'll need to spend £15ish on a memory card, plus a game, so that's about £210 + £15 + £35 = ~£260. Go for a premium bundle that's £300 and you can usually get at least 1 or 2 games bundled and maybe an extra wireless controller. It's likely more games will come out requiring the HDD to play them in the future, but if you're not using Live AT ALL, not even for patches, demos and videos, then you could probably get away with a core if you really were stuck for cash.

Does Live require a seperate monthly fee from my BT internet fee? Or can i just connect my 360 to my existing network? If i can connect it to my network, yes i'll be going to Live, if not, then no Live.

You have to get a subscription to it mate

£14.99 for 3 months (I think)

£39.99 for 12 months (I'm certain)

:)

you can connect for free (silver package) but if you want to download demos/games etc or play online, you'll need the gold package which costs between £20 and £40 depending on where you buy it

Looks like if there are any needed updates i'll have to pay for 3 months or something, other than that, no Live for me, pfff >.< Ahh well.

you get a month free, just keep it for a bit.

You DO NOT have to pay for the basic Xbox Live Siver package. Xbox Live silver is free, and allows you to download stuff like updates, videos and demos. You only need to pay for Xbox Live Gold if you want to play your games online.

Just echoing this, as it is the truth.

You get 3 free 1 month of Gold when you make an account.

So just make a new Silver account (which is free), and choose the option of free 1 month of Gold. Then when that runs out either keep the Silver account, or create a new one and have another month of Gold free. You can do this 3 times only though.

Yeah i forgot to mention i won't be going on to Live at all.

Bad decision tbh, Live is one of the best things about the 360. (especially for online gaming).

The cost itself (£40 for a year) is not a lot as long as you use it enough.

If you shop around you can get a years subscription for much less than £40 as well.

It's not my decision, it's where we live. We have a 512kb connection which usually runs at half that speed, and always goes down randomly. That's why i had to quit a load of online games i was playing, it just wasn't possible anymore. I don't want to waste a subscription. But as i see the silver package is free so all is ok in terms of updates.

Ah fair enough :), I wasn't having a go by the way.

Just another quick question.

Which is better, wireless controler or wired? And does the wireless controller have to be recharged in it's own cradle? Meaning once it's flat you can't play your 360, or does it just charge through a wire? (makes so much more sens, will be surprised if they havn't done this)

You can put normal AA batteries in them (2) which is what am doing.

2 X 2700mh should last a while (maybe more than the battery pak itself) and with a 1hour charger for 4 X AA, i shouldn't have any problem playing.
