Hi.

I'm looking at buying one of these (1Gb RAM and 120GB HDD version) to use for university but have a few questions before I buy one:

1) If I buy a Linux model is it hard/possible to re-format it with XP?
2) Will it be capable of running software such as MS Visual Studio and Photoshop?
3) Are they any good?

Any help woulod be great!

Thanks.

Hi.

I'm looking at buying one of these (1Gb RAM and 120GB HDD version) to use for university but have a few questions before I buy one:

1) If I buy a Linux model is it hard/possible to re-format it with XP? Yes, use an external optical drive is easiest, but I believe it is possible from a USB drive (search for info !)
2) Will it be capable of running software such as MS Visual Studio and Photoshop? More or less....not a powerhouse, but pretty sure that netbooks have had Photoshop up and running
3) Are they any good? How long is a piece of string ?! They are ideal as a small, light, basic PC, but they are not a desktop replacement et al

Any help woulod be great!

Thanks.

Unless you already have a copy XP ready to use, why not just buy the XP version?

2) Will it be capable of running software such as MS Visual Studio and Photoshop?
Remember the display resolution is only 1024x600.

3) Are they any good?
A piece of string is this <-------> long ;)
