At request Im posting info on a couple of upgrades I've made, not finished yet and no pics yet, hopefully I'll get some next week
- I've replaced all the 120mm fans in my antec 1200 case with noctua S12s, and its made it whipser quiet, very pleased with this, they're running on full and are quieter than the stock ones were on low - suprise suprise - And yes its not the prettiest case now, but its under my desk so I dont see it, and now I dont hear it either
- I've replaced my 512mb 4870s with a couple of 4890s, just for some more grunt
- And I've replaced my CPU (E8600 - I know madness, didnt really need to but I wanted a new toy) with a Q9550, I've put it in at 3.8GHz but havent had chance to play about with it yet, its IBT stable and game stable, I'll do a full prime run when I settle on final OC which will will hopefully be some way north of 4GHz, quite low volts atm so shouldnt be a problem. I need to lap CPU and HSF first (when I get time), new HSF too which is TRUE and a P12, gonna add a 2nd P12 in push/pull once I get some zipties or somat to afix it with, and apply MX2 (just using supplied TIM atm)
Hopefully I'll have chance to lap and OC properly next week, I'll let you's know how I get on
