Ok I have no idea what its called but my mums bf looks at rightmove quite often and when using ie if you clicked a house like this one for example http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-10809084.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy and scrolled down the page then went 'back' then 'forward' again you would see where were previously.

But in ff it doesn't work that way if you go back then forward you just go back to the top of the page.

Anyone know if I can do anything about it?

I should have said that all the sites I goto ff works fine but that one site ff doesn't play ball.
That rightmove works with opera aswell just tried it, but blue and white ocuk :(

Blue and white OcUK? its just CSS and you can browse it however you want. User CSS in Opera is pretty easy to play around with :)

All I done was install opera then goto rightmove then straight here, after viewing ocuk in grey/white blue/white was a bit bright and not to my liking.

It does it for other sites with Fx here, but not for that one

So if you click the link in my first post it will open up a new window, if you then copy the url and paste it into the tab your using to view the forum, then scroll down rightmove then go 'back' then 'forward' it remembers were it was?
Thats the way I've tried it and it doesn't work, I'm curious to see if that way works for you.

That's some horribly confused steps to reproduce
What you mean is go to some random site, then to your URL, scroll down a bit, then go back and forward a page and (you should be back at Onemove again) it should be at the same scroll position as you started at?

(where it is what you're describing)

Pretty sure I've seen this mentioned as a bug before but it works fine with, say, this forum in place of Onemove so I'm sorely tempted to blame Onemove here...
Fx2 does the same, FWIW.

I know, hence i said you can just use the userCSS? All that firefox extension does is enable something thats already been built into Opera for ages :) Can use the same CSS within the User CSS... :)

Yer sorry, I was completley knackered at that point

I only used opera for 3 minutes so didnt change a thing. I did have a quick look about changing the theme but gave up.

 Thats fine if you couldn't be bothered, you should have just said that. Just saying that you don't like this and that becuause its different to Fx was wrong :) :p

Well I have no plans on using opera and couldn't find the user css that you were on about. I thought that I might have been able to copy the code from ff to opera.
I didn't say that I preferred ff, all I said was that ocuk forum was in blue and white as opposed to the grey and white that I'm used to viewing it in with the ff stylish add on. And it wasn't me that mentioned css, all I tried opera for was that one site, so I don't care what ocuk forum looks like using opera, I wish I didn't say anything now...

Looks like it's a known bug in Fx that Onemove is tripping (215405 - scroll position not remembered on pages with cache-control: no-store http header), and it has a patch already.

I couldn't make heads or tails with what to do with that what was in that link. I clicked the patch at the bottom and it came up with text, from there I have no idea what to do. But I read about restore scroll position so I installed that and its seems to have done the trick.
Cheers.

You need to wait for it to be checked into Firefox. There's not much you can, bar wait (or use another browser).

Ah right I get ya. I'll have to keep an eye out for when they approve it thanks. That scroll restore kinda works, but seems to work on the part we need so that will do for now.

Old thread I know, but it'll be fixed sometime soon.

The patch went into the mozilla-central trunk at 17:55 on Wednesday, so it might make it into 3.1 or it might not. The current nightlies from there (which call themselves 3.2a1pre, i.e. pre-3.2 alpha 1) have the fix.
It'll definitely be fixed in 3.2 (or whatever the version post-3.1 is), though that's probably a while away yet :(
