WMV, MP3... I want it to open up windows media player and stream them. All its doing though is downloading the files then opening up WMP.

FireFox 2.0.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
Tob3z

Also... I don't want WMP to have the file association of the files. I use winamp but WMP streams better and I use it for podcasts etc.

I have no end of problems with FF (Any version) just either not remembering my choices, or changing it somehow. Really hacks me off!

You can if you like do the following:

Go to:
%DRIVE%:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%VARIOUS%.default and have a look in the "MimeTypes" file (open with text editor). It doesnt make that much sense to me, I have tried playing around with it but no joy.

You can rename it to MimeTypeOLD or something and then FF will automatically create a new one. Bear in mind that all your other saved prefs will be removed and it will be a blank slate again. I usually find this helps if things get screwy in FF.

NOTE: the file directory I listed is not visible by default, if you want to navigate to it I suggest turning on "View Hidden Files" in Tools > Prefs in File Explorer.

Yep that's what I have done yet it downloads the file and then opens it up with WMP. Rather than just sending the link to WMP and letting it stream it. :(
