I keep keep getting the stopped working error every now and then and it's starting to annoy me

Is this due to FF3's immaturity or should I be investigating other avenues?

Not happened to me and i d/l on release day..

I did have a lot of issues with VLC mozilla plugin though, maybe something to check?

which extensions do you use?

haven't had a single crash in FF3, I use it all day at work

might need to delete your profile and start a fresh

It happened in Vista and XP - although I did use Mozbackup to restore my profile (not extensions).

Currently have:

Adblock Filterset.G Updater
Adblock Plus
Adobe DLM
Better Gmail 2 (disabled as I thought it was this)
British English Dictionary
Downloadhelper
DownThemAll!
Foxmarks Bookmark Sync
Noscript
oldbar
PDF Download
Smoothwheel
Tiny Menu
Update Notifier

Edit: Think I have the VLC plugin (installed with K-Lite codec pack).

you don't need update notifier, firefox 2 onwards checks itself for addon updates

also, remove filterset G, it's badly coded, use the adblock plus 'EasyList' subscription (the adblock plus creator says to do this)

I've added the EasyList. Now when I go into the ABP menu it says:"Disable Easylist blah blah" so I presume that's working.

they were just general tips, probably has nothing to do with the crashing

the update notifier deffo isn't needed now though (i used to use it myself)

Do some troubleshooting? kill off some extensions and see if it affects stability? check their sites for compatibility issues?

The problem is that it might not occur for hours, then hit me. So troubleshooting is quite difficult.

If it actually crashes, you report it, and and the report sends (it should show up in about:crashes), a link to the report would be useful.
Otherwise, WFM, tried safe mode/new profile?

Er I'm not stupid. I removed everything and exported my bookmarks

That inlcudes things in my doc's and settings :p

And everywhere else.

Well I moved back to Vista. I installed Firefox from fresh, with just my backed up bookmarks (using HTML file).

Worked fine for a few days...then it crashed once today. It's annoying but I'm not sure if I should carry on troubleshooting or forget it.
