FF7 Help!

I recently got hold of the old Ps1 game and am playing it on the PS2....

Please someone tell how to make saves....its not recognising I have any memory cards (when I have 2 in their slots).

Please find me a way! I ahve searched on the google but cant find anything about htis..

You need to use PS1 memory cards as far as I know.
