I completed it on release, but since everyone whines on about it I think i'll replay it.

I have it on psx and pc, whats the diffrence and which is the supiorour version?

I can't comment on the PC version of 7, but I played the PC version of 8 and something about it just didn't feel right. I swear the music was a bit off too.

the music has always been naff on the ff games though

Hmm it sounds *very* midi on the PC though. I'm not sure if it's just rose tinted glasses to be honest.

Shame the combats turn based. Think i would have liked all these if it wasnt so boring combat wise as in giving orders etc and the menus stuff.

the combat was good as far as i can remember, the item/materia system was good too. Its just the story was dire.

Weren't the PC versions actually using MIDI versions? (they sound awful in comparison when I downloaded a couple, I can't imagine people playing with them :( )

I just started playing FF8 on PS1/40" Samsung and it looks terrrible... not sure if it's cos I need a better cable or just because of the TV res.

i could never understand the story line but it was annoying how the names were so unimaginative, ice ice2 ice3, blizzard blizzara and blizzaga are better but the magic in ff8 sucked, it hardly damaged people.

Ive played all the FF from 7 onwards apart from 12 as my ps2 died awhile ago and i was w8ing for the ps3 release, but i saw that FF12 isnt playable on the UK version. Ive liked all the story lines and the hrs worth of gameplay, just a pity the PC ports were god damm awful.

FFVII is one of the best games ever invented, have completed it a number of times, each time finding something new and doin more of the side quests (ie Huge Materia etc).

I found the PC version (from a mate i think) and it is pretty much identical in gameplay, gfx are slightly sharpened as i recall.

Love the soundtrack to it, one of the reasons why i got the Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children soundtrack as they keep a lot of the FFVII songs in it.

Your having a laugh yea? its like me saying Mafia was fun driving at 30mph but the story was boring and I skipped passed the cut scenes

The PC version is prone to game breaking crashes which don't let you finisht the game. Happened to me twice at different points. Just play the PS version it's more reliable and how it was meant to be played.
