Hi,

Any ideas why FFDshow isn't reszing my video. Only noticed it last night, I've reinstalled / updated FFDshow and played around with all the settings.

As you can see the resize option is ticked but the on screen display isn't changing the RES ?

Any ideas ?

Does it do anything if you specify the resolution rather than use 2.5x? Also try moving the resize up the order so its the first action performed.

I see you are using MPC, do you have ffdshow video decoder loaded as an external filter? Otherwise MPC will use it's internal filter and not those settings.

Edit: But now I see it has the OSD displayed, so it must be using those settings... try specifying the size instead of multiplying.

Thanks, really wierd. As soon as I move it above OSD it works. When OSD is at top it stops working ?!?!

Oh well. Didn't make that much of a difference anyway :p

How come you're using ffdshow with MPC-HC?

The internal filters for video are excellent in MPC and scaling is perfectly fine - like you saw, there's not much difference to be observed upscaling SD content so standard scaling (native) is the best way to go about it.

Try my ini file: http://robbiekhan.co.uk/root/temp/mpc-hc.ini

I have it configured to decode audio through the official AC3 filter which is higher quality than MPC's built in audio mixer but all video is through MPC/DXVA.

I only installed ffdshow because the 3gp codec was needed and nothing more really!
