ffdshow wmp11

trying to get control of brightness levels for movies in wmp11..have installed ffdshow and when i play a movie the incon shows in the systray but the wimp options are greyed out....i tick the box for levels but it does nothing../...how do i control the brightness then?

so if you right click on the icon and select the ffdshow decoder in the menu do you get the config screen up ?

If you then turn on the OSD does the picture now have the OSD on it ?

If so you should be able to tweak the settings in the menu then restart the movie (not always necessary) to see the effects.
