FFFS!!

Just turned on this laptop im ment to be wiping/reinstall of win xp, and the bastad thing has a long red line down the screen, now i know this wasnt here befor as he was showing me it working.

Im guessing its a graphics card issue as it shows up on boot too.

Great I can see it now, all my fault as it was working befor i took it.

More trouble than its worth doing mates and colleges a favour.

Ps. I ****ing hate laptops crap things small gay keyboards 15" screens GET A PC!!!!

screen for sure,my 2 month old acer did this, twisting the screen made it go away for a short while....

could be a heat issue on the gpu or something. open up lappy and clean out all the dust.

It is almost certainly an intermittent screen fault and will be expensive to fix once it fails completely.

Be very careful how you open and close the screen as any twisting is likely to make it worse/cause it to stick that way for good.

Big question is do you tell him he has a screen fault or say nothing and hope it doesn't do it the first time he opens it after he gets it back?
