First he chucks his bumper at another driver who's at racing speed.

Then both he and his father who own the circuit pile into the smaller kid in the pits afterwards.

Luca Corberi has just destroyed any chance he had at a racing career after his disgusting behaviour today at the FIA Karting World champs. His father owns the circuit and is seen power driving the guy into a wall, Life ban for both of these idiots please

I think he's right, just the act of throwing his bumper at Paolo Ippolito is good enough reason for a ban, it's reckless and potentially life threatening and then the attack in the pits afterwards is the icing on the cake.

Is there any footage of what happened to get him so aggrieved? Not that it makes the slightest difference of course, but just out of interest.

The guy shouldn't ever be allowed to race again.

Only the end result of whatever contact that then meant he ended up in the barrier

Footage of Corberi’s behaviour during the KZ Final race have been widely shared on social media. The 23-year-old Tony Kart driver retired nine laps into the 25-lap race after colliding with rival Paolo Ippolito.

Corberi and Ippolito were both disqualified from the race over the collision, which was not shown during the race.

The stewards ruled DRG driver Ippolito “could not avoid to make contact with driver 61 [Corberi] and following that action forced the driver 61 to retire.” However he was found to have infringed the Code of Driving Conduct on Karting Circuits concerning collisions between competitors.

The official race classification notes Corberi was given a “disqualification from the competition for a (very) bad manoeuvre” under Appendix L, Chapter IV article 2(c) of the International Sporting Code, which requires driver to “use the track at all times”.

I was surprised to see his age, I thought kart drivers would have moved on to other types of racing by the age of 23.

That's possibly why he's flipped as hard. At that age, you're far too late to go into the top tiers of the single-seaters. But there is certainly a huge pool of potential options in the sports car world. For behaving like this, both he and his father should be charged with the attack of a minor. Wouldn't mind seeing them forced to either sell the track or face not hosting any FIA event in the future.

From Autosport:

Writing on Facebook on Monday, a deeply upset Corberi said sorry for what he had done - and revealed that he had decided to never race in motorsport competition again.

"I'd like to apologise to the motorsport community for what I've done," he said. "There are no excuses to explain why I've done such a disgraceful act. This has been something I've never done in my 15 years of career, and I really hope it won't be seen by anybody else in the future"

"After the race, once I've been called by the sporting judges, I've asked them to take my licence away because I was fully conscious about my irreparable mistakes, but as they showed me, they don't have the power for doing it, it's written in the international rules, so please, don't be against them, they were just doing their work in the best way they could.

"For this reason I've decided to don't take part to any other motorsport competition for the rest of my life, that's not a self justice, it's simply the right thing to do."

Corberi, who was later disqualified from the event, described yesterday as the worst day of his life, and said it will be something that he never forgets.

"My family has been in karting since 1985, we've seen it grow, we've seen the best and the worst part of it," he added. "This episode will be remember as one of the worst in our sport and that's something I'll never forget.

"I'm not asking any indulgence, because I don't deserve it. I will totally agree with the punishments required.

"I'm writing today to say sorry even if it's not enough, because after all the bad things that happened during this event, the worst ever has been done by me, a guy who loves this sport and after the worst day of his life will still remember his good racing memories."

He has since deleted the long FB post, but I found the story on autosport which covers the jist of it.

Whether there was some history between the two competitors and Corberi imploded.

Corberi being at his Dad's race, extra pressure to put on a show but crashing out - simply went the bravado route - a decision which will haunt.

Punching a guy who caused a crash is one thing (and forgivable I guess). But walking around the track and throwing things is on another level :/

It was a 16 year old kid he assaulted! Definitely not something he should be forgiven for.

We've seen similar things in NASCAR, and to an extent it's seen as a mildly humorous strop, but this is a kid who's been assaulted by both a 23 year old and his dad.

Whilst I certainly don't condone his actions, that's at least a decent apology.
I doubt his dad has posted anything similar

Might have been a decent apology on the surface, but it speaks volumes when he's already removed the post.

Have you seen his Twitter posts? He’s been mocking people that have asked for a lifetime ban. The man is a tool

That's pretty shocking to be mocking people that are calling for your lifetime ban of racing. It goes to show the level of immaturity this 23 year old has. Frankly he needs to grow up and act his age.

A lifetime ban might actually make him think about what he's done.

The Twitter account with his name has these posts.

The video of the fight with the comment "Got what he deserved imo".

And the video of him chucking the bumper with "mom I made it"

I don't know if that's his real twitter account or not, it doesn't have a verified tick against it.
