Fiat seicento sporting

i had a cinquecento sporting it was a great car for my 1st but beware very tight engine (lancia) runs hot, fans running all the time thought it was gonna blow sometimes in traffic!

Yes, a lot of Genuine Fiat parts carry both the FIAT and Lancia Name, some the FIAT and Alfa Romeo name, and some carry one of the 3 names.

But it's a Fiat engine, either the 1108cc FIRE or the, older 903cc/899cc OHC Engine. Lancia used both these FIAT engines in cars over the years, with Lancia written on the air box.

If we go by what's written all over an engine then one of the diesels in the Mondeo is a Volvo engine.

Yes my car old cinq 1.1 sporting had had Lancia written on the lower bit of the engine in big writing behind the radiator, so if using a majority of parts from a lancia ...... its partly a lancia engine i suppose.

I take it you mean the block?

Possibly a shortage of FIAT blocks with FIAT written on them that week, so they used a FIAT block with Lancia written on it, either way it's all a FIAT engine.

And when it sits in the Lancia Y10, it's still a FIAT engine.

Very little, either they all had Lancia written there to save on castings, or that block was cast with the intention of going into a Lancia, and found its way into a FIAT.

Build errors happen too sometimes. Or maybe the engine's been re-built?

Yes they have lancia engines ask anyone to have a look ...... or was the big bit of writing lying to me hmmmm

they have both on there ;)

Had the car from brand new so defiantly wasn't rebuilt -- just thought it was weird that it had lancia written on the block? Anyways ...... good car and both cinq and seic can be had for good prices -- the thing i like about fiats also is they normally have an excellent paint finish !!

You gotta believe in Karma when you drive one though and just accept that if you get hit, then it was your day to die.

Actualy LOL. That put a genuine smile on my face. :D Possibly because my car is very similar. :)
