Fibre-optic Modem -> switch -> wifi router

Assuming the Fibre router is PPPoE this is easy with a managed switch.

Just VLAN the Fibre modem WAN port and Router WAN port on the switch to their own VLAN and keep the rest of the switch as the local VLAN. The PPPoE protocol will find the modem just fine and dial it up.

I ran this configuration for a year when I had a PPPoE DSL modem and a pFsense router appliance.

For Example:

I think I understand, I will digest this in the morning.

One thing you will have to do is pull one of the faceplates off and take a picture of the termination, that way you can be best advised on how to wire up the crimps :) I'm not entirely sure on the best way of making that neat however.

edit; Also that is your fibre connection, looks to be an SC type connector.
