Hi All,

I need some advice, reviews, real world feedback on what Fibrenest are like these days?
My wife and I are looking at moving home next year and the one thats caught our eye is a new build by Charles Church in south wales.

As Fibrenest is the only option for this house i'm looking for some real world, first hand information about the service they provide, i have read many mixed reviews online but i know people rarely go out of their way to leave a good review!

We currently have BT 900Mbps FTTP which has been flawless, we are both IT consultants working from home so our internet connection is vital.

I'm also interested to hear if anyone who is living on a Persimmons or Charles Church estate has had any other infrastructure added by another provider after the development has been completed.

Thanks.

I personally wouldn't go near a property with this arrangement. Have they even had the roads adopted yet or are they charging a service fee each year? Do they maintain ownership of the gas distribution on the estate so they can cream off a percentage of your bill?

There will be a £200 a year service fee, which i can get onboard with as long as the area is actually kept clean and tidy and they dont ramp up the price for profit sake!
I have no idea about the gas distribution, I have not gone as far as that yet, I know there is a private water pump for the fire suppression sprinkler system that would be part of the service charge.

I’ve had fibrenest since moving in back in December 2021. It’s been fine. Only went off once when out ont failed which they replaced next day. 500mb is highest and like yourself I was on 1gb / 1gb. I don’t notice difference (except download speeds when watching it). But expensive at £47 , I was paying 27 for 1gb. Overall it’s been fine

We’ve just bought a Persimons ne build and they tried to push this ISP on to us. I said no. Turns out it’s being investigated. No other services are on site.

The reviews are shocking and the service.

I’ve got with Smarty and a N510E router. I get 600mb down and 120mb up for £20 a month rolling contract.
I cant find any articles on an investigation, just a few news articles stating that its happening.
I'm going back to the estate on Monday to view the show home again and i will be checking the 5G signal on my phone (EE) to see what the coverage is, I have been looking at an external 5G router as a backup.

This is what im hoping for! 500mb would be enough for day to day use, the only time i see anything go higher is when downloading a game from steam.

Our local council is the one doing it along with Ofcom. The Trust pilot reviews and other forums are pretty shocking. I do have a friend that’s across the main road on the 1st phase and he has BT Fiber 900. I have looked at doing a WiFi link between us and paying half.

This is me doing the test with my unit

Hi there. I'm on a Persimmon estate, built in 2016. We've had extra services added in recent years, like Virgin Media.

Really I'm most happy that Openreach put a line down in the first place, for FTTP. That's all I need
