Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else was on fibrenest? I'm in the process of starting the drawn-out process to complain via Ofcom regarding their public IP shenanigans - basically, they promise a public IP for the higher tier connections, but then never actually set them up - claiming "technical issues" or "not available in your area".

I'd be interested to see if anyone had ever got their public IP's? Quite an important feature considering they use Carrier-Grade NAT.

I'm guessing that from the provider you have, Fibrenest, this is the only one availble as they are owned by Persimmon Homes.

Have you been through Fibrenest complaints procedure? If not, I would recommend this first and if you are still not happy, you can then raise to the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR). It is required that you fulfill their own complaints process before an ADR will look into the issue and the ADR used depends on who the company signed up to. Unfortunately this isn't listed on Ofcoms website like all others are but you'll be able to get who they use once the complaint process has been fulfilled: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/problems/adr-schemes#F#

Ofcom don't have power to resolve complaints and they don't investigate individual complaints. They will of course take it and investigate a company if they get a lot.

Having to pay Persimmon for your internet access because they lock every other provider out of their sites is absolute balls and I'm amazed it hasn't been determined to be illegal.
