Fibrus have been digging up just about every road in Cumbria and now trying to flog full fibre to everyone. Anyone used them ? Seen some horror stories on trustpilot but a lot of good ones.

Looks to good to be true and I am one of those who if they see that I don't do it.

I am out of contract with EE (finally - long stoyy conning bar stewards) and it looks like I'll have to give up my landline which is no real loss.

Northern Ireland based company to the best of my knowledge - made their money from a bucket load of grant money the NI assembly threw at getting fibre into the more rural areas on NI. have had them a good 3 years now and no issues to report at all.

Fibrus seem pretty solid from what I read about them, they've been going a long time and are steadily deploying their network and getting customers onto it.

Don’t they or didn’t they have plans to make N.Ireland the first country in the UK to have 100% access to full fiber?

They certainly made openreach pull their finger out and start mass network updates in N.Ireland. With them branching out into England can only be a good thing driving competition and decreasing timelines for Network updates.

A few months after they put fibre into where I live BT/Openreach were suddenly busy as **** expanding their fibre in the area and posting out offers galore.

Talking to this lot and trying to get a straight answer is worse than pulling teeth. I am doughnut and I am overqualified to work there ffs. And this is just sales .... to quote Hans Solo ... I've got a bad feeling about this.

I can "put an ethernet extender into another port".....

"An extender is for wifi"

"no sorry like an extension lead, except instead of plug sockets it is ethernet ports"

"You mean the switch I have already told you about right at the start of the conversation" ....

now the chat is closed after 10 mins of no reply .... how can I help you today ffs

Still waiting to reconnect 15 mins later. Tried ringing, got all the wat through, then sorry we are closed during this holiday period ... what holiday period.

Online says open until 8pm.

Now been an hour... this is sales ffs

That’s poor customer services and would put me off them - despite singing their praises! Any interactions I’ve had have always been very straight forward. They’ve maybe bitten off more than they can chew by expanding into mainland UK?!

Well I have reluctantly signed up. Last person I spoke to actually on the phone was an absolute melt, then put me in a queue to speak to an install engineer... gave up after waiting 40 mins. Went back through chat finally found a half decent one, knew 100 times more than the others and didn't try to BS me when he didn't know. He agreed more training needed for simple questions, and had only been there about three weeks. Got an engineer call coming Monday.

I have their service 300M for £20 a month (black friday last year). I find all is good. The only issue I have is with my 3rd party email provider. It will often refuse to send emails, as spamhaus reports that my IP address is marked as spamming or suspect. Fibrus uses CGNAT, which means one public IP is shared between many customers. If some customer equipment is inadvertantly being used to spam, or they have a misconfigured system, then that IP gets marked by spamhaus and everyone that is on that IP will have issue if their 3rd party email provider uses spamhaus. And if it is ok, you can't guarantee it will always be ok, as Fibrus changes your public IP from time to time.

Thankfully I have a work around, using another email provider that doesn't use spamhaus.

The supplied router I have is locked down, which means very limited ability to change settings.

But the connection has been rock solid for over a year now, and they do allow you to keep your landline number via voip if that is your thing.

Also their upload speed is better than BT, on 300M, upload is 100M.

Guarantee not to increase price at all, i.e. no CPI increase over the period of the contract.

Black friday prices are still on for this year.

Their 1G package now comes with 2 eero pro6e routers which retail on the rainforest for £250 a piece

Supposed to be contacted by install team on Monday....... absolutely naff all. If not heard over the weekend I'll cancel. Poxy company with apalling customer 'service'.

Nothing at all from fibrus, the tody an engineer shows up, saying he is working down the road and 'noticed' have not been connected, and he would do it now. I was on my way out on a job so I said no. He got a bit snotty with me and so I told him I was going out in 10 minutes and it was not convenient. He then kinda changed his attitude and so I pointed out I hadn't heard a thing from fibrus and now expect me to drop everything. I said he could get someone to call me and arrange another time.

Parents have had a fibrus flyer through the door, they live in the centre of that town that flooded twice.

Given they currently have FTTC with shell who are about to sell up, probably take their cheapest bundle.

Any information as to why its not been installed from the ISP?

What happened to cancelling or did you deicide to hold off in the end? Can see you have been mentioning this since December and its now Feb lol

Similar story with a lot of these alt net providers - we've got 3 which are making noises about coming here but it is a complete shambles and 2 of them only ever do anything when the 3rd make progress, then they make a big noise about how they'll have people connected up before the 3rd, then nothing happens. Then a few weeks back out of the blue, after months of trying to get anything out of them and loads of promised callbacks which never happened, etc., one of them called to say they'd be coming the next day to dig through the property so we told them to go away, that isn't the kind of customer service we want backing up our connection.

They did actually come a few days later and dig through our neighbours garden to connect them up, but then they've had radio silence since without the final bit of the installation done.

And still nothing despite contacting them twice since last post.
I was going to change from Bt to Fibrus but found them useless for tech questions. I have a lot of wireless cameras etc and asked them if there was wps button and they couldn't tell me....Sad

Read post #6 from this thread.... lucky if they could spell their own name. Still not connected by the way, now ignoring messages so lookingto see if I can go to Ombudsman. Just to be a pest.
