Fiddling Ports

Basically I have a piece of software that will ONLY print to the port LPT1, there is no option about this.

I have a printer that will only connect via usb, is there a way of printing to the printer from the software, as I can't ask it to print to the USB port?

Share the printer installed as usb, call it "printer" for example, then run the net use command, net use ltp1: \\computer\printer /persistant:yes

ok, it says device name is not in use, any other ideas?

you need to make sure it is shared out first, copy the share name into the printer part of the command above.

I have done that. I don't think it will solve my problem anyway

Is your pc networked? The reason I ask is that if it isnt, then you need to install the microsoft loopback network adapter for sharing to function properly.
