Hi,

I am looking into a increase in petrol consumption and slight hesitance at time in acceleration in my 51 reg fiesta.

I know were the lambda sensor is, but I have also read to check the MAS/MAF, Mass airflow sensor? I've had a look in the Haynes manual and cannot seem to find anything relating to it,

Does anyone know if it has one and if so were it is?

Thanks

It'll be in the air intake somewhere, probably in the pipe work between the filter and the inlet manifold

Good luck, I couldn't find it on mine. I think I ended up cleaning the intake temp sensor, or it might be the maf. The only sensor I could find was buried under the inlet manifold.

Pretty certain :)

Make sure you use the right type of cleaner on it. Or it can wreck it, they're apparently quite sensitive

That looks more like a 1.7 Puma engine. Does your have the plastic airbox on top of the engine? If so you'll have a MAP (manifold pressure sensor) based system not a MAF. *edit looking at the year of your car you will almost certainly won't have a MAF.

Earlier pre 2001 (?)

it would be around a year 2000 model, looks exactly the same as my friend's y reg mk4 1.25.

Without a photo of the actual car it's kinda hard to help totally accurately.
