I'm looking to buy a 05 fiesta 1.4 zetec soon ( light blue version) and i was wondering whether you can fit parts from an 05 ST on to it.

parts such as the spoiler or what ever you call it, wing mirrors and car handles that match the colour of the car, or would it be cheaper to have them sprayed ?. I quite like the look of the ST leather seats aswell and wouldnt mind replacing the standard seats with these.

Could the front bumper aslo be replaced aswell ? i'm not sure i would replace it but i suppose its good to know if i could should i change my mind later on.

I want to also put the car on 17" wheels aswell but not sure what alloys to go for, what would you recommend that would go well with the car ?

yup you can do all of that and many already have on UKFN... google it and join up mate. lots of advice, tips etc to help you out. everyones friendly enough :)

join up, post some pics of your car once you have it and theyll be many suggestions on alloys mate. I personally love multispokes on fiestas, some super turismos, tsw paces or simply some fox evos :D

Yup as has been stated you can just swap them all over will fit fine.

I own an ST and love it :D

If you need any info or reference pics for the ST head aloing to wwww.fiestaSToc.com loads of good help there too :)

Cheers guys

Captain I tried getting an online quote for an ST but couldnt get one. tbh i wouldnt want to find out what it would be. this will be my first car so i dont want to get anything to powerful.

Directline quoted me £1400 for an 05 1.4. with 0 no claims, less than 1 year licence. no convictions.

I could probably get it cheaper if i shop around though, i'm also doing my passplus at the moment

Ouch!!! Fair enough then. Good to see you going on your own insurance though, its what I did and am now 23 with almost 6 years no claims and insurance fully comp is £400 on an insurance group 10 car.

wont the insurance on the ST be cheaper than the heavily modded 1.4?

I hardly think a different bumper, a spoiler and some coloured handles counts as heavily modified. It wont be much more at all.

OP: Have you considered a Zetec-S? Has bodykit as standard.

Indeed, I can't imagine the £1400 will remain as such when you begin declaring that you're bolting on spoilers and stuff...

its like young rivers (mainly chavs) who buy a 1.1 saxo and put a VTR body kit on it. May aswel just get the better version in the 1st place, much easier to insure. Also modding a car reduces value not increases it

Generally speaking, it is cheaper to insure a lower model with manufacturers bits tacked on than the model more commonly found with said bits.

Case in point: My Mondeo. Same bodykit as ST, was declared, cost loads less to insure.

Fox i've looked at some but they cost a lot more than what i was hoping to spend.

I have around 6k to play with. i've seen some nice 1.4's on PH's with around 10k on the clock. i'm not looking to mod it straight away. just bit by bit over a few months.

Fonzee, eddie thanks for them links.
