Reason for the title is I see you have a fiesta Si?

Any way, i have a beauty of an 95 3 door Si. metallic green and only done 55k miles which is the lowest i've ever seen one.

just wondering what sort of mods would be best to increase BHP?

I've heard these SI's are no good for anything over 100bhp?

What would be the best way to go?

Lots of information here mate: http://www.fiesta-si.com/ :)

Apparently the 1.6 Si is very bad for tuning so they recommend dropping the 2.0 lump in it from the Mondeo.

The usual stuff like air filters and exhausts don't have an effect apparently. I may just do the 2.0 conversion when I have a years no claims, we'll see ;)

Mine has 90k miles on it and it's tourmallard green.

Also get yourself onto the www.fiestaturbo.com forums aswell as the si forums :)

Just to make it a bit easier for you:

EDIT: All I have done to mine is put some smoked side repeaters on, silver front indicator bulbs to remove the fried egg look from the front and I've got some tinted rear lights on the way - should be getting them Monday or so I'm told.

The forums are down at present due to a recent hacker attack, but have a look at ukfiestanetwork.com over the next few days. There are some good guides over there.

No they're not.

You're thinking of ukfiestanetwork mate :) I'm currently on both the fiestasi and fiestaturbo forums.

Cheers for the reply...

I don't think i'll attempting any thing like that :)

As soon as i hit the insurance friendly age of 25 i'll get summit faster.

for now thought the Si is nice, but they just arent that fast. Had all the spark plugs n leads changed along with new rad hoses etc.. its a bit better now..

No, I wasn't suggest the two forums you mentioned were down, rather that UKFN is down but for him to check back over the next few days when they will be back up.
sorry, bad wording on my part!

Oh right.

There's nothing you can do to it that wouldn't cost a lot of money, you could get fast road cams but it wouldn't make a lot of difference and would just be a waste of money.

What do you think of the car?

I've only been out in mine a few times and I'm quite liking it's responsive steering and responsive engine but it does go through the fuel quite a bit...

Does your exhaust sound fairly bassy when coming off the throttle from fairly high revs?

yeah it sounds quite beefy, and does kinda splurt out when u rev then pull off the pedel..

i do love it though. went from a 998cc fiesta bonus to this and is amazing compared to the old car.

Your right about the petrol, the car eats it up! I though it was the norm for that size engine, but the person i bought it from says her new 2litre MG Rover uses far less.

one thing that des bother me though, is that it tends to slip about when driving about 75+

it also wants to crash its self when you suddenly break at speeds of 40mph suddenly..

Know what i mean? the steering suddenly has a mind of its own...

It's normal apparently for the 1.6 to go through fuel quickly.

Can't say i've had any problems with the brakes, they feel like brembo's compared to the brakes on my 205! lol

The best thing I've done to mine is cleaned up the MAF sensor, it's made going on the throttle a lot smoother and probably helps with the fuel economy too as it was a bit sooted up though i've not had the chance to test the MPG side of things.

It slips about at 75mph+? What do you mean by that?

Your brakes are probably out of balance or something, should get those checked out. Also check your tyre pressures.

traveling at high speeds the car seems to slide about the rd. it might be the wheels not set right.

When i take the car in for a service i'll get them to take a look at the wheel setup..

Does it do that in the dry?

Sounds like the tracking could be out, which reminds me mine needs to be done as it pulls to the right slightly.

The best thing to do really is just to maintain it. What car are you going to get after? Another Fiesta? I wouldn't mind the RST or the RS1800 but I think I'll have to wait till i'm 21 for those.

yeah, even when the rd's are dry!!

Gonna get away from fords after this. try some thing a bit different

Was thinking about getting a Toyaot Starlet GT Turbo or if i can when i turn 25 a mid 90's RX7..
