New member with 5 posts knows about that??

Anyway, yes it will be fine, unless of course you routinely heat it up so much that the fan kicks in during your daily commute?

You'd probably be fine as long as you drive steady, keep above 30-40mph and don't get stuck in traffic. The fan mainly comes on when stationary for any length of time or moving slowly in busy traffic, obviously more so in hot weather.

Should be fine, if you end up sitting in traffic for a time.just turn off the engine. Can't see it being an issue at this time of year

6am to 6pm so i dont have an issue with traffic normally.

Only issue i have now is the temp gauge goes straight to hot when i turn the engine on and doesnt move any lower? What could that be?

Either the wire going to the temp sender is shorted, the sensor itself is damaged or maybe the gauge is shorted on the PCB for the Dash (unlikely). First thing I'd do is pull the connector off the sender, if it drops likely the sender is kaput

That will be a short circuit somewhere on the system after the gauge, but probably in the temp sensor.

If you disconnect the wire off the sender and the gauge goes to cold, then that will be the problem.

e: Should have hit refresh before reply.

Where will i find the sender? Ill do it tomorrow, this problem only happened this evening after my oil change :(

I'm sorry but I cannot remember where it is on this engine, it changes location from carburettor engines, to single point injection, to multipoint EFI.

I have a feeling, given the age, that your car would be single point injection so it should be screwed into the left side of the head near the thermostat iirc. On the EFI I believe it's in a coolant hose going to the heater, as the one in the head is for the ECU.

Sorry, it's been a long time since I worked for Ford!
