I've been told this has gone on my car, how much do you think i'm looking at for the part to replace it?

Did the people who told you it needs replacing not tell you how much it would cost to replace?

What's wow? I haven't taken it anywhere I am just aware that this is the issue and a common one on Fiestas.

Contact some where like Halfords who do recon and new joints. Normally IIRC they can be anything from £40 up. I think the others guys 'wow' comment relates to the fact that you were told it needs replacing but they never gave you a price, I assume by your reaction it wasn't a garage that told you its buggered.

<£30 for a UJ. Labour I don't know, doesn't look hard though, so probably an hour.

Yeah steering column to rack. I spoke to a friend who used to be a mechanic a while back.
