Has anybody fitted electric windows to a car that does not have them as standard?

I have yet to take the door cards off so am unsure if any wiring is in place.
If not, what sort of task is it to add?

Any input appreciated.

Car in question is a Mk5 Fiesta. My GF's. It's an odd spec, alloys and spoiler factory fitted but quite poverish inside. must have been a Ford parts-bin special!

My MK4 is the same. Alloy wheels, spoiler, fogs and body coloured everything but wind up windows :(

It's not worth the hassle, it'll be a massive pain in the bum

They have special connections between the door and the chassis so with being a cheaper car I suspect there may be the same around all the models. Check near the hinge to see if that cabling is there. If so, it may mean just adding the kit inside the doors. (my mate has a Mk5 Zetec S).

Also, my mates leccy windows are bloomin fast! I might have to upgrade my window motors. Can't have a Festas windows faster than mine! :p

Take the door cards off and see if the loom is there, if it is then you'll need the electric window motors, switches and you'll want to put a couple of fuses in the fuse board (should had the spaces there ready if the loom is in).

You might strike lucky and have a car with the loom already there.
