Fiesta MK6.5 - Climate Pack?

I have a 57 plate fiesta zetec climate. I think its the heated front windscreen and the electric mirrors (dont quote me on that one). All climates have A/C also.

That would make sense, Noted the one I looked at had both electric mirrors and heated windscreen. Didn't note it had Air Conditioning though, Bonus.

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell if it has the Aux in port fitted just by the model? Or would I have to look specifically at this car?

I had a look at 3 similar fiestas to the one I bought and they all had the aux in port next to the gear stick. I couldn't tell you in complete certanty though.

Climate pack just means that it has climate control, cars without it still have Air Conditioning but still have conventional knobs controlling temp/direction/power.
Climate pack looks like this:

Non-climate pack:

Getting a mk6.5 with CC is rare any rocking horse poo though, heated windscreens are standard fit across the range IIRC.

Mine looks nothing like that but is registered as a climate pack. Still have the conventional 3 knobs for speed, heat and direction.

AFAIK no models came with it as standard, possibly the ones with technology pack but I doubt it.

AUX input could be specified from new but not very often chosen on lower spec models, you can buy the AUX input kit which is a 10 minute fit and can be routed into the glove box, you can put it next to the gearstick if you want but you have to drill it, the kit comes with the fittings to mount it there though.

Thats what I'm confused at, Mine is registered as a climate pack but I cant figure out what is extra. The dials are just the standard ones.

As above, This one is a climate one, But doesn't have those dials?

Yeah, If its fitted next to the gearstick, Then it looks like mine doesn't have one. Will definitely have to get one though, Can't imagine not listening to my own music (CD doesn't quite cut it)

Logic would dictate that the climate pack would include, at minimum, climate. If the car doesn't have climate, it probably doesn't have a climate pack.

As I've learned recently, what's on the v5 is by no means definitive - it's probably just a mistake on the v5 if it says climate but the car doesn't have climate :)

I bought the kit for mine & fitted it next to the gearstick. The plastic surround has a template already marked out for the hole on the underside which is handy.

Very easy to retro fit as long as you take it easy with the drilling as not to crack the plastic.

My 07 Fiesta Zetec is the "Climate Edition" which doesn't have climate control. The only additions from the Zetec is the quickclear heated windscreen and heated door mirrors.

Also, it has the Aux In next to the gearstick.

The Climate pack is heated windscreen and mirrors, nothing to do with climate control at all, Climate control comes under a different option from what I recall

I know on mk1 Focus the climate pack added heated front window and AC, nothing to do with automatic climate control. Sounds like it's the same for this car.

How easy is this for a complete noob? This is more appealing if the hole is already partially there and its easier to access rather than in the glovebox.

The things im concerned about - Getting the surround off and does the wire easily run down from the radio?

Are there any guides?

If you buy the kit from Ford it comes with a step by step picture guide. It's very easy to do for a noob as it involves removing very few parts. The hardest part is the drilling of the hole as it has to be the correct size for the aux in socket to click into (20mm IIRC). It is a very tight fit for the aux in socket but it will go.

You will need to buy the radio release keys for the stereo if it is standard Ford equipment. Bought mine for 99p from the popular auction site.

There are very few parts to touch when doing this. Just unscrewing the top of the gear stick, removing the rubber gear stick surround, removing the plastic surround & unscrewing a side vent. Access is pretty good too.

As for the cable itself, it runs directly down the center console & gets cable tied so no issues there as there is plenty of space.

Hope that helps :-)

That's brilliant, cheers.

Bought everything I need including 4 of the radio release tools and should hopefully be here for next weekend when I'll fit them.

Got a whole range of drill bits as well so hopefully one of them will fit.
