Fifa 06 World Cup and PS2 adapter probs

Hi, I got Fifa 2006 Road to the World cup this morning and so far it seems like a really good game but I can't seem to get my USB PS2 adapter to work properly with the game. If I plug it in, when on the menu and in game it acts like the controller is stuck in the down direction when it's not. It will scroll down through the menu and the player will run downwards when nothing is pressed. It also does the same in Need for Speed Most Wanted except the car turns to the right when nothing is pressed. I've noticed that both of these games are made by EA. All other games are working fine with the adapter.

Does anyone know of any patches of ways to fix this problem?
I really want to use a controller as I find it very hard to play a football game with a keyboard.

I had the same problem, go into device manager and disable the second contoller port on the adapter. Should sort it out.

Cheers, just disabled it and it's now working fine.

I had this with a few games it seems to do this if you dont have a second joypad plugged in, hence disabling it seems to solve the problem

I'm having problems with this as well playing toca3. Tried disabling the second controller and it was still crashing. Have disabled my joystick (logitech 3d) and it seems to work OK. Don't mind dropping the 2nd controller, but sucks a nit having to disable my joystick. Just have to see how many times I fly off the end of the carrier in bf2 before it annoys me to much.
