FIFA '09 DEMO Reaction

Downloading now as well, will try and post back tomorrow once i have played it abit.

*Scurries around to find his PS controller USB adapter*
 
Downloaded this just now but put it in the bin before installing cause i think this demo is out on the XBOX tomorrow so will wait to download it on Live and give it a crack on there. Footie games should be played on console imo :P

Got high hopes for this as a contender against Pro Evo 09
 
After having a few games it's growing on me.

The collision detection system seems good, player movement off the ball also seems good.

I still get the impression the control response is slow at times, and I always think the pitch on FIFA is too small.

Still same old gameplay engine not next gen one although it has tweaks from previous PC games.

Graphics are nice but still a long way short of PS3/360 also just had crash great. Still old stadiums and not that of next gen version overall its better then PC games before but not patch on console version.

When will EA stop being lazy and put next gen game onto PC. (The game what i expected it to be from what i seen)

Downloaded + installed, must say I'm not very impressed. Bit more polished but essentially identical to fifa08 on the PC (I really hoped they'd use the next-gen graphics for PC this time).

Was 15 mins into the game and blasted one in the top corner with drogba from 30 yards too, so not much changed with ease of shooting either imo!

Bit disappointed, I hope the next-gen console ones are better.

It is fun to play though, don't get me wrong.

Yeah but I've always felt Pro Evo was miles ahead in terms of gameplay but I think FIFA has been getting better and I was reading a lot about how this years FIFA might be on par with Pro Evo (which hasnt really changed much, specially graphics wise).

Shame there isnt a game with FIFA graphics, Pro Evo Gameplay and FIFA licensing :(

Pro can be modded you know with better graphics and proper kits. It's all free. I'm playing pro 08 with new transfers. Google evolution patch it's lovely

I think the new fifa is good, i like the game play however i don't think its the next gen game they promised.

Game play wise i liked it the way the players move, how they interact with the ball the collision system is all very good. How ever the graphics let it down imo. Close up the they look good for goals and replays and such but the further away you get they become less detailed and rough around the edges. The stadiums also look poor. It would be fine for low spec pc,s but when u have a grands worth of pc you expect better.

I don't think its a pro evo beater not on the pc anyways.

But still a good game imo. Hopefully they will make a few improvmeants before the game is released but i dout it. I Haven't decided if i will buy it yet, depends how long till evo is out.

Wasn't too bad. Didn't notice all that much different from 08 the way it handles. For me goals seemed easier, was 5-0 up at half time so i don't know what difficulty setting it was on.
Probably just being the demo but the keepers didnt seem to have all that much function as in they don't leave the 6 yard box at all. they don't close in on you when your running at the goal.
Also an odd thing i didn't see a kit option so when playing Real Madrid vs Shalke they where both in white kits which made for a frustrating game at times.
Other than that i suppose it will only get better in the full game and I'll more than likely get it upon or shortly after release
 
Some stuff I've found out after watching videos of the xbox 360 demo and playing the PC one:

The menu systems are worse, the graphics are worse, the demo settings don't save, the slide and through ball buttons don't detect on my ps2 pad so i'm using keyboard, theres no arena mode like in the xbox demo, theres no advanced formations like in the xbox demo either.

Pretty annoying but its still a decent game. First time I've played fifa since 2003. The graphics only look crisp on mine if i put my anti aliasing up to x16! Madness really.

Not sure why they have a seperate team work on a different game. Its like with the PES games now, they have a team doing the next gen versions and then theres the PS2 game which lacks all the looks.

I doubt I'll be buying it anyway. Only this Be a Pro mode is really tempting for me. I would love to play with 2 or 3 mates on the same team in that camera view. Pity its only 4 seasons. Whats the point in limiting that feature?
 
best FIFA game on the PC since FIFA 06

still not up to par with the 360/PS3 but its decent enough

wish i could force anti aliasing on tho as it will improve the graphics a lot

You can via the nvidia control panel but I've heard people with ATi graphics cards are having trouble with the settings being ignored by fifa

already tried forcing it via the NV control panel and nhancer
didnt have much luck getting AA to work with 07 & 08 either
 
Weird cause mine seems to be working okay. Although I have to have it on the max settings in order to notice a proper change
