FIFA 09 PC - Any good?

whoops yea i mean 09, lets face it its practically 08 anyway :P

Im not sure, Isnt IOS the full mod for half-life? There was a serverside mod for CS servers with some custom maps which had graphics not far off 09, effectively im saying HL1 based games look somewhat comparable, ie. its not a very pretty game at all.
 
How does 08 compare to 09 on the 360? I can buy 08 for like £7 brand new. Is it worth paying £25 extra for 09?

I know there are some improvements, but the graphics as far as I know have not changed from 08 to 09.

as far as i know theres quite a big difference.
Graphics wont change much would they, they were good last time, the xbox hasnt become any higher spec.
 
Well actually I think they could. As time goes by the developers become more efficient at codding games for consoles and get more out of them. Usually games that come out at the end of a consoles life cycle tend to look better then the ones at the start of the cycle.

What big difference?
 
Even the worst Pro evo (pro evo 8) is better than any fifa on any platform.Fifa just always feels arcadey and on rails.
 
I just think games like this are much better on a console, this isn't down to a console been better, this is down to the majority of the games they sell of this type are to console owners so... the xbox360 version will be more polished then the PC.

i beg to differ. Dont quite understand why PC doesnt have the next gen fifa along with ps3 and xbox, as last year konami coded Pes08 for the PC and then ported to the other consoles as far as I know, This could be one of the reasons why there was so much slowdown on consoles compared to that of fairly common PC specs(common amongst game players).

The Xbox360 version of pes08 certainly wasnt more polished than the PC version.
Theres not really many games at all on consoles that are more polished than on PC, I cannot think of any to be honest, whereas we had better versions of a few of theirs, add to that the community support for certain games and your point is somewhat flawed.
You'v got to remember the Xbox is infact just a PC, and PCs overtook the hardware specs of the Xbox long long ago, cancelling out the fact that the xbox is more optimised for games etc
 
EA keep mentioning PC's don't have the processor power to deal with the complex AI code or something. It doesn't explain why other aspects aren't as good. May be the other team aren't as good at making games? :P

madness, Doesnt a e2160 have more raw horsepower than the 360?
 
Just played season 2 in Manager Mode.
4 games in the space of one week, 2 of the games being on the same day!

[same day - saturday]
Chelsea - FA Cup
West Ham - League

[tuesday]
Liverpool - Leauge Cup

[saturday]
Newcastle - League

What a mess.
 
fifa on the pc is a big no its utter tosh, on the other hand its pretty damn decent on the ps3!. stick to pro evo for the pc.
 
Just tried this having recently played it on the PS3 at a friend's house, and I've gotta say it's the first time in years that I've found a game that's better on a console than PC :(

Doesn't help that the game won't allow me to program some of the actions to my gamepad, tried that devdata.dat tweak but no joy.
 
Don't bother with this on PC, or any other sports game, as they are WAY better on consoles.
I bought my Xbox360 7 weeks ago solely for Fifa09, as it is garbage on the pc compared to Xbox360.
Absolutely brilliant on the xbox360. Playing against mates is great, very competitive and this type of game are just made for console.
