FIFA 09 squad file problem

I've got a small problem when playing FIFA 09 on my PS3 and it's really annoying me now.

When I go to play a ranked game I have to download the updated squad file every single time (with the January transfers) - is this normal?

Also even after I have downloaded and saved the file, it wont work when I play an offline game.

Anyone got any ideas how to solve these two issues?

Mine does this aswell, I heard that if you download via the Adidas live season, it then works...

But I aint got the Live Season :@
 
Wont it just ask you to pay for the new one once its expired? They cant take any money from you as i havent put any of my details in to get it. I expect most including myself will trade in 09 for fifa 2010 when that is out anyway.
 
On the last fifa, this used to happen regardless of wether a new squad file was out, based on who you had in the arena, if you didnt have the default player (ronaldinho) it would ask you to download the squad file, and weirdly enough if you did have him it wouldnt.

I dont know if thats the case with the new one, anyway, if you havent already, Resave your squad file (when you download it) by going to settings > save > squad or whatever the option is and resave that, thats what allowed me to use it in all games

Did you download yours via the Adidas Live Season?
 
Yeah same happened to me and my mate,

Download it Via Adidas Live season on the first menu then go to exhibition match to make sure its worked, you should be able to tell from star differences in teams
