Fifa 09 Tips?

I seriously suck at this game and I want to get better, I want to start playing and enjoying other game modes but I feel I am too crap to play these yet so I keep playing exhibition matches.

I have played for a good few hours now and I find that in semi pro difficultly I can quite easierly get the ball in the opposing teams half of the pitch and score. When I move up to professional difficultly I start struggling, I keep getting tackled and striaight after a pass the ball gets intercepted very quickly and robbed from me.

Any tips for this previously non fifa player?

Add me to XBL my gamertag is in my sig. We can have a few private games mate and I'll show you some good strategies to adopt, It'll help if you have a mic also.

Online play is different to offline, but I would say a good way to progress is to keep at the single player when you can, keep progressing up the difficulty levels until you can easily beat the AI on World Class and Legendary.

PS. I usually stay up until 3am ish so if you're going to be around we can have a few games tonight too.

Thing I am finding time and time again is why are my player so terrible at marking and moving themselves into good positions during a break even when I select 'high pressure' and ultra offensive.. still the AI on my side seems to be letting me down.

Use L1; most important button in the game!

Slide tackle at every opportunity, from the front, from the side, from behind. Just get that man down to the floor.

Extra points if you slide at full speed whilst they are sprinting full speed at you, then just as they make a slight direction change....BAMMMMM!!!!

Fifa 10 needs double footed tackles and actual broken legs.

I love playing like that! I also wouldn't mind seeing some bone breaking out of the skin in fifa 10. For pure fun the other day I tried getting the whole of my team sent off bar 1.. I was disappointed when the match was stopped after only 5 of my players were sent off. I say let the one guy take em all on! Bring it on!

Maybe I need to study the controller help page in more detail.. I found that fake passes and fake shots really don't trick the AI at all.

LB then, tells a player to make a run. if you press it before you press pass (A) then the player passing will make a run after passing, great for 1-2's
