Hi guys

Just bought a PS3 and this is the first proper console I have owned since the PS2 first came out.

(other than a wii for the kids)

Anyway, I have been having a few games of Fifa10.

First game - 0-0 draw
Second game - 0-0 draw
Third game - 2-1 Win (my 2nd goal was a penalty)

Then my mate decided to ask me for a few games online. He beat me 6-0 and then 7-0. I know that I won't be as good as him due to lack of practise.

However I picked wolves as my team against his Chelsea.
It got me thinking, the teams have a star rating. But surely the rating is based on the skill of the user, not the console?

Am I missing something?

Me vs AI I understand, the ratings will work. But me vs a friend, are the ratings irrelevant?

Also (not played FIFA 10) but in all football games players have stats that affect gameplay, in Single Player and Multi Player.

Speed, for instance, I am sure some of his players runs rings around yours, even if you both put in the same effort. (This is the most obvious player attribute, but others have an effect), common sense, really.

It was like this in PS2 days as well, although these are not console/platform specific issues, but affect all footie games.
