Fifa 10 Possession + Passing

How do you keep possession and make good passes?

Playing on world class and opponent just doesn't give you time on the ball.
I try short passes and even if I'm facing the player I want to pass to, the ball doesn't reach their feet.

I try lob passes and either the pass has too much/little power or the pass never goes in the direction of my player's run.....

Also is there a way to make your player keep running when a lob pass is made. My player always turns around and try to chest the ball down to control, I just want him to let the ball bounce and continue to run

Yes I'm a noob at fifa but professional difficulty is too easy and world class is too hard

Put lob through balls onto manual.

10000x better and they will actualy work now.

its best to play quick triangles while holding the "run on" button to unlock the CPU defence

Definitely worth spending 10minutes watching through the tutorial videos on Fifa 10 if your new to the franchise. It should help to see what options are available to you.

Like Stoke1863 says, go into controller configurations and set the different assists to suite your style of play. Personally I use (in game order): Semi/Assisted/Semi/Semi/Manual.
