Fifa 12 Demo

Gahh I cant be doing with City and there money, gets on my nerves and now they are getting under the table treatment from EA..... what's all that about lol!

Thanks for the updates on the demo release, cant wait for this one! PES demo looked like a "massive" improvement on previous years.

It's even funnier to know that Man City fans get special treatment.

This deal has been one of the main reasons I am not going to bother with Fifa 12. Things like this should not be happening, and it smells dodgy.

But apart from the super secret mystery game mode (which sounds like it will be a mini-game in between loading of matches) there's nothing here that the other top clubs haven't had for years... It's no reason to not buy the game.

Its not a super mystery game mode?
You know that mode in Fifa11 where you can play 'along side' the PL?
Well that mode's gone City exclusive afaik. No idea how they achieve this however.

Loading matches? So I guess this feature won't be in the pc version? :p

Oh I got excited that it was today :(

Got my pre order in though as the transfer updated 11 is now completely broken with Southampton able to take on most teams...

For the stats thing I believe they have some scouts of their own to do the "important" leagues then pay for access to the FM guys stats for the rest (as SI have a huge network of real scouts to do the whole league with at least one guy per team). I heard its also what Pro Evo do.

Its the principle of it all i think, for me anyway.
EA pay some team loads of wonga, and give them exclusive content..
It just sits un-easy.
Its clearly not a business decision, no matter what EA want us to believe. I can't believe there's anyone in Manchester, or hell the UK for that matter, who watches football who doesn't know what FIFA is.

Fulham fans should be up in arms, they had to pay EA to receive the same treatment.

How do you know? Would love to have that job! Also to help decide ratings for players on Football Manager :D

You should keep an eye on the EA Jobs website then - they frequently advertise for FIFA data/stat collectors!

I wouldn't deprive myself of a football game for 12 months purely on the back of this though. If I don't like the game mode I won't play it. I'll be stuck in UT 100% of the time anyway so I couldn't care less if Man City/Fulham have an exclusive game mode.

There's also regular people who get given access to the database and asked "what do you think?" which usually just leads to club vs club arguments on the private forums about it.

"OMG How can you rate x as b? Y is clearly better!" etc

One thing I always wondered, who rates the players and how? Do EA just decide 'Right, he can have a score of 82 with passing as 79...shooting as 80...etc'??

the ratings change every few weeks too. you can download squad updates from the options menu. they try and make them as realistic as possible to how they are playing at the time in the real world.

also updates all the transfers, etc, too.

You have to admit its a little lame though.
Its basically saying you need to be a City fan to get all the disc's content.

Imagine the uproar if it was "you have to reside at a London postcode to play x mode"

If I'm paying the same amount of money, i want the same amount of content, not to be discriminated against because i support a different team. I know lots of people who don't support any team that play FIFA, what about them?

What about fans of south american teams? do you think they are going to be chuffed that because of some political decision/pressure coming from some club they probably only hear of in passing, they have less content?

I can see your point, I guess some people care more than others. As long as it has UT then I'm not really bothered about the extra game modes. I don't even play Manager Mode let alone some piddly Man City specific feature.

By the way where did you find out your info on the content? Whenever I've Googled I can never find the specifics.

Are they even doing a normal version of this game? I am not bothered about UT, and the only price I have seen so far for this game when I looked last, was about £40 with several packs of UT included!!

I have never paid that for a Fifa game!

It was all on an official EA Fifa12 youtube video, posted on the City website as well.. explained all the features they get.

It got so many thumbs down and aggressive/OTT comments that EA took it down.

All pre-orders get the UT packs, its a pre-order bonus.. so this is the standard version of the game.
And £40 is cheep for EA sports lately, fifa 11 retailed at £45 on launch day around here. A buddy who works for the purple place said they have been told its likely to retail on launch day for £50.
