Just a heads up,

There is a discount code for the big blue supermarket's entertainment site that gives 15% off 1 item over £20.

This means you can pre-order the special edition (24 Ultimate Team Gold Packs over six months for UT2012) for £36.46

This is the cheapest ive seen yet so just jumped on it now, check most of my usual haunts for pre-orders but all seem to be over the £40 mark.

Discount code is 20JULY15-1 (only for 5000 customers i think, so get in quick)

This will also work for other items over £20 I believe!

Enjoy!

I just used the code to order Gears of war 3 for £33 wich seemed to be cheapest so thanks for the heads up.

I think tesco charge when order is completed so good to jump on this and then cancel if you find a better deal. Seems retailers are keen to push games prices up now though.

Only issue I have is..... I want the game on the day it comes out, I know it says that this will be with you for release date but you just never know!

Thanks for the code :)

I'm confused with Fifa 12, can you only buy the Ultimate Edition?

I thought there was 2 versions but looking at the usual suspects it seems many are just stocking the ultimate version. I have seen one shop to have the normal version but it seems many dont!

Amazon are currently charging £5 more for the standard version :P

Think I might just wait and hope for a supermarket war this year, kind of bored of fifa and ultimate team really.

So so tempted - someone remind me of the edition differences and also the cheapest price of the standard version. Im cynical enough to believe EA ensuring the free UT packs with this, will have a lower chance of getting anything useful than if you spent real money on the pack in-game...

ps3ud0

Is this confirmed?

This is taken from my email confirmation:

You will receive an email as each item is despatched and you will not be charged until that time.
Pre-order items will be charged and despatched as soon as they become available.

no point buying fifa until a month after release from my experience it's a laggy mess until a few weeks after release.
I said to myself after last years farce I am never buying another fifa ever again on release day better to wait until they sort the servers and patch out which is normally 3-4 weeks after street date.

I can't recall 08, 09, 10 and 11 having this issue, each game I bought on release date and played ranked matches from day 1.

FYI this is the Special edition not the Ultimate edition. Therefore it comes with 18 free packs not 24 (minor detail I know):

PRE-ORDER OFFER (Special Edition is only available on Pre Orders)
Special Edition Includes: 18 Gold packs (3 packs per month for 6 months) to build your dream club in FIFA 12 Ultimate Team.

Still it may be as cheap as we see it for a while with that insane RRP it has this year. :(
Not sure where to grab mine from yet..

install invisible hand on chrome, it tells you automatically who is the cheapest.

one store has it for £37.89 with no codes.

this was like £25 last year was it not? and £20 the year before that?

that extra £15 is surely been equated into the packs, so basically your not getting any packs for free, you just pre-ordered them.

ea are dodgy as ****

Have to agree with Andy, never had this problem any year and I always pick this up on release.

How are EA dodgy as **** based on that alone? It's the big supermarkets who generally put the special offers on at release, and last year I think one was £29.99 and one made you buy points or another game to get it for £25. T'm sure they will do the same again this year, but I think even they are getting to the point where they want something more out of the deal.

If you are expecting to pick this us for £20-25 without at least another purchase then I think you will be disappointed. Hope I'm wrong.

Ive been charged for mine already it seems
They charge you, then refund it a few days later going off what I've read elsewhere. Thanks for the heads up, put in my order as it can always be cancelled. :)

i was referring to the packs being free, they aren't free, you simply paid for them when you bought the game, therefore its not free packs, yet they are advertising them as so.

therefore that is dodgy business from my point of view.

lets say you used to go out for a meal at a regular place and the dishes you like usually cost £20-£25, they now say when you buy the dish you get 4 free pints, but the cost of the dish has changed to £40.

i know i wont be able to pick this up for £20 that was a one off, couple of years back and they learned their lesson, but i was hoping for below the £30 mark, £29.99 or £28.99.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a supermarket price war nearer to the time but I sincerely doubt the standard edition will be £35+ on launch. I bet the supermarkets will be doing it for £29.99. As for the special versions with the codes and stuff I completely agree with you, you pay extra for those things, you don't get them for "free".
