FIFA 12, where's my virtual pro player gone?

Just played my first season through on FIFA 12 and got the mighty Coventry City promoted to the premiership, as well as winning the FA cup.

On starting the new season though it won't let me continue as a player manager, just as a manager, so I lose my virtual pro!

Anyone know how I can continue another season and keep my virtual pro?

It's a bug;

If you started as a player manager, when you take a full managers position your player effectively retires.

If you move squads as a player manager, then sometimes your VP doesn't follow and just comes out of the game.
