Been playing Fifa for years, and loved fifa 13 once EA eventually fixed it. But Fifa 14 gameplay and movement is complete turd. The game is slow and I can't beilieve how bad the game is. Anyone know if PES is decent this year?, because I can't play fifa 14 anymore, shocking game.
 
Fifa 14 ruined the series IMO, I played really often up until this latest version. It's too easy to play lofted through balls and everyone abuses that feature.

Hopefully the mechanics of that changes for the next FIFA.

Powered by frostbite, a gunner ship comes out of nowhere and crashes through the stadium....If anyone who watched E3, know's what i'm talking about, regarding a messed up golf game.
 
I haven't played Fifa in years, must admit I quite enjoy Fifa 14 but I missed at least half a dozen of them lol. I use to always play PES.

Commentary is garbage though, next time I score a goal and it's a "fine shot" with my head I'm going to have to sip my tea extra hard.
 
PES is OK tbh, mods make it better graphically and licence wise. Is it like the old PES games? No, not up to that standard, but the best thing about it is that it is less animation driven than I found FIFA... ie the game is more organic, where as FIFA you can get locked into a animation and just have to put up with it as it plays out.

Neither game is that great if you want a sim football experience though... same old story of balls over the top = goal.... PES keepers letting tappers by or just parrying them back into play.... plus constant end to end nonsense.

Try PES the cheap way ;)
 
If you are going to try PES, mod it either with PES Smoke Patch or PESEdit patch

Its not just the graphics, licences etc that are changed... but also gameplay, ball physics, referees, pace of the game, remove the catchup logic of defenders being able to hang tough in a foot race with say Bale... lots of stuff. Have a read... as I say its not perfect but you might find something in there that you enjoy.

FIFA 14 also has mods, but being honest ive not tried them... but given the size of the community, i wouldnt be surprised if they did similar to FIFA as to what mods do for PES. So again before giving up on FIFA, it might worth be having a install of a few of them to see if you can get the game out of it that you would enjoy.
 
The entire Fifa series is and has always been absolutely terrible.

Fifa 14 on the PC was basically the XBOX 360/PS3 port, not the XBOX One/PS4 release with the newer engine.
