Fifa 2008

PC owners got shafted this year. I don't see why we can't get the next-gen engine the XBOX360 and PS3 owners enjoy. :(
 
I've tried it and hated ... Pro Evo is much better :-)

You change the res in the my fifa -> setup then move the page to right (R1 if you have a control pad.)

I used a PS2 pad to play it and it doesn't stop rumbling

I read somewhere that EA won't release a "Next Gen" version on PC because of the volume of users that play it, they say there is no way to scale down the graphics for low-end users for them to be able to play it better...

I love EA's idea of graphic options in FIFA on PC

07 had two resolutions, small, and not the size you want.

The only graphical tweaks you could do that showed the power of the PC because PS2 couldn't do it was add in the Referee and Linesmen :-/

I'm sure if the could be bothered they'd add scaleable shadows, AA, AF, lighting etc...etc...

All that would be perfect for mid-to-high end users... and you could turn it off for low-end users.

I'll be sticking to the 360 version this year, which is a million miles ahead of the PC/PS2 versions.

Amen to that. Will probably get it for my PSP though. Graphics aren't too bad and it's good fun to play on the move.
 
Pro Evo sucks, Im sorry but im not into it at all, Fifa 07 was great and i can see Fifa 08 becoming my new favorite. Just going to give it time to get used to and it should be a lot of fun.
 
I quite like FIFA 08 - and thats coming from a Pro Evo fan for the last 6 years!!!
OK, the graphics arent "next-gen" (especially when you compare to the PS3 demo) but most people use the wide view anyway so you will never be too impressed!!
The most impressive part is the "be a pro" idea where you take control of just one player in the game - great fun!! Fantastic feeling when you time that run into the box perfectly and the AI pics you out to score a goal!! :D

Pro Evo has been my weapon of choice for the last 6 years but I've a feeling I could be tempted to give this FIFA some time this year round!!

My only wish would be that EA specifically employ someone, anyone, that can design a decent menu system in ANY of their games!!!!! :confused:

Pro evo doesnt have next-gen graphics to be honest..
You can choose to be one player in pes too, a lot of people dont seem to realise this, there was a bit of buzz about the "omgg fifa and next pro evo everyone can be one man online" i heard around uni, but i used to play 8player on ps2... that was ages ago.. we'd all have a man..

im now heading home for the weekend so its going to be a hardcore threeway PES08 v PES6 v Fifa08 fight, harsh!

How can you be just one man during the entire game with the rest controlled by the AI on Pro Evo 6 on the PS2???
I've played it for years and never seen the option!?!? :confused:

Why a company can't just make a dedicated PC game like is beyond me, instead of catering for the console people why not say, "if you want to play this game... get a PC that can handle it." end of. Why it has to be the other way round is shocking, well it's down to money really isn't it. Cheaper for people to get a console than a decent PC.

Imagine a footy game from the ground up (be it PES or FIFA) that had the detail for example of Crysis characters or any major FPS title. It can be done, so why all the half a*se jobs is beyond me. It's like they've done really well progressing the gameplay and AI and then thought "that'll do, release it". Idiots. Really shows that these people take pride in their work and love what they do... not! All they see now is money money money money money money money. Really boils my p*ss.

Or instead of doing one dedicated game be it console or PC, why not have two teams? One does the console version and one does the PC, similar in some respects but different in others???? :(

Just set it to fixed cursor on the screen you select cursor settings/controllers etc before you start playing.
