Just got FIFA07 for the PC and it runs like a complete dog with anti aliasing and anistropic filtering enabled.

I have a core 2 duo 2.67ghz and a 8800gtx, anyone know how to fix this?

my benchies and other games are fine.

You're lucky.

I have the demo, it just crashes back to desktop, no error at all.

You'll probably find it's EA's programming that's contributing to it, although you have got the latest patch right?

There are 3 config files you can download that fix this.

cfg_ph_h.ini
cfg_ph_l.ini
cfg_ph_m.ini

Available from Gamespot I think. (I cannot remember where I got them from now). It is ok to say gamespot isnt it?

You copy these files to your Fifa07 program directory and they work wonders. I used to get awful framerates before I used these files. Something like 2-3 fps when the stadium's were in the background.

Sorry I cannot provide a direct link to the files as I never bookmarked where I got them from. I can say however that they will solve your problem.

I just cant use AA at all. i can keep 16x HQ AF and everything else maximum, ive tried the config tricks, but AA kills it. during the actual game its fine, and like 60% of cutscenes, its just those few that **** me off so much that i just play without AA. still looks okay.

I found a txt file in my Fifa 07 directory that I copied and pasted from a website just before I found the actually ini files. Sorry, but I don't have a link to either the ini files or a reference for the website that provides the advice.
Probably had about 12 tabs open in 3 browsers searching for a cure to my Fifa07 problems. (I know how it feels!!!!)

This seems to happend when you have the Anti Alizing enabled, no matter how powerful PC / lappy you got.

It appears, owners of Radeon videocards seems to be the ones mostly plagued by this bug in FIFA 07.

EA is working on a patch, that should solve this problem. But until it's out. you can try this:

Go to the FIFA 07 directory. Then "Data" + "cmn" And If you are using high settings?

Then cfg_pc_h.ini

If you are using "medium settings?

Then cfg_pc_m.ini

Low?

Then cfg_pc_l.ini

Open the file with Wordpad or notes.

Now, Look for:

DISABLE_DOF = 0

IGNORE_DOF_DISABLE = 0

IGNORE_POSTFX_DISABLE = 0

DISABLE_POSTFX = 0

Change those values to 1

Save the settings.

You can also make some of the image more clear, by setting RENDER_RATE_MODE = 7, to 2
instead.

This, can also be helpful if you dont have a powerful videocard. As this lower setting will ease the strain on your card.

There used to be a time that when games came out, they worked.
EA are by far the worst - "so when they insert the DVD in works on our dev environment? then what are you waiting for - all PCs are identical!".
