Quite a hefty punishment bearing in mind the lack of action usually taken on such matters - cynics might suggest that Sepp Blatter's nationality could have had a bearing on this. On the flipside, people associated with the likes of Germany U21s, Arsenal or Leeds United might suggest that this is too little, too late, and that Turkey have had this coming for years.
Presumably if the Turkish FA have any sense, they will try and line up as many friendlies as permitted in the near future (perhaps during WC2006, as they won't have any other fixtures to trouble themselves with, tehehehehe), and if necessary lineup some easy opponents for the start of their Euro2008 qualifying campaign (Malta/Moldova). This should minimize the impact of the bans on both their stadia and players, and ensure that they are back at full strength for the tougher competitive fixtures.
