Anyone got this game at all?

Downloaded it today from the ea store and starting to get into it.

I fancied having a mess around to get used to the game so used the game editor and gave the mighty cheltenham town a few million extra. However when I loaded the game it hadnt transfered this money to them and their budget was exactly the same.... anyone else had this and know how to fix it?

I'm definately saving the edit as whenever i re load the editor the edited stats are still there.... strange ! I've tried recreating the game 2-3 times and its still doing it :(

I have tried the 2007 version of the game but when you have to buy your in-game wife presents and practice golf to improve your handicap and impress people its not really a football manager game - I got straight back to Football Manager.

Havent played a Fifa manager game since the original Fifa Soccer Manager ( back in 1998 i think, might have been before) but really enjoyed that.
Excellent to see another Cheltenham Town supporter :D

Bit of a thread bump  but downloaded the demo for this last night as killing time until FM09 comes out.

Thought this game was ok - there's quite a few good features that FM could use however it doesn't compare to FM at all. Will be going back to an old save of FM08 tonight.

Anyone else got any more views of Fifa Manager?

When is FM09 out?

Might as well try this. I'm an FM fan and I've tried the CM series every year since starting on FM05. FM always, always is >>> CM.

I'll post my opinions later when I've tried it. :p

Fifa Manager last year was **** poor, so I wouldn't hold your breathe :p

It was better than LMA Manager though :o

We both know FM2009 is where it's at :p

OK. It is very bad. Fifa Manager 08 that is. Didn't like the interface and didn't like not being able to play in a windowed mode, or couldn't find the option to do so.

Also didn't like how the game progressed, I had no idea what the date was or when the next game was coming.

Just pretty awful.

Just confused the heck out of myself as I thought we were talking about FIFA Manager 09 not 08 :o

Downloaded and installed the demo of 08 and thought "Wow this hasn't changed much since last year... hmm the teams are the same too, maybe they just haven't updated it yet"

:o

Haha. :D I was on about FIFA Manager 08. Don't think FIFA Manager 09 is out yet. Certainly no demo that I can find. :)

Just seems so amateur and haphazardly put together compared to the polished, refined work of art that is FM.

Well I did end up playing this again last night until about midnight or so.

While it doesn't hold a torch to Football Manager, it actually held my attention so it must be doing something right.

I think I sold my FIFA Manager disk so stuck with the demo for now.

I might get it from EA Store tonight, it's certainly not fantastic but it kept me entertained and was something a little different.

I don't like the way the finances are run though, I mean Man Utd starting out with a £6m transfer budget :-/

I managed to sign Berbatov (I figured we may not get him in real life I may as well get him on here) for £25m and got the financial people dead peed off.

Mind you, Berba has scored about 10 goals in 6 or 7 games though :)

I think most people look down their noses at Fifa Manger just because they are all too used to Football Manager.

I like the interface for Fifa Manger and the slight sims style on it, but true if you are in it for an all out management game then FM is for you. Fifa Manager is a pleasant change from time to time, also i do prefer watching poor 3Dgraphics much more than little circles run around with a yellow ball :p
