**** YES!:D

At least there is hope for a new vote if that is all! Qatar would be a **** world cup, All you need to do is watch the Middle eastern F1 and other sporting events there that got there because Arabs have lots of money to see that people wont go and watch and that they are **** events!

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has not ruled out a rerun of voting for the 2022 World Cup host, after claims of corruption rocked last year's vote.

A rerun would give Australia a chance to snare the finals after it was knocked out in the first round of voting in December last year.

The right to host the world's biggest sporting event was controversially award to Qatar.

But Blatter told UK newspaper The Independent that an inquiry, sparked by claims of corruption made in The Sunday Times, could see the FIFA executive cast their votes again.

Blatter told the Press Association there was a groundswell of support "circulating around the world" for the voting process to be rerun.

"But don't ask me now yes or no, let us go step by step. It's like we are in an ordinary court and in an ordinary court we cannot ask: 'If, if, if'," he told the Press Assocation.

FIFA president since 1998, Blatter is being challenged by Qatari Mohammed Bin Hammam, 61, president of the Asian Football Confederation, at the June 1 poll.

The 75-year-old Swiss says Bin Hammam wants "total change", which could lead to the "dismantling" of FIFA.

"I'm very confident," Blatter said during a recent interview.

"FIFA isn't ready for total change, where the running of operations would go to the six confederations. If we dismantle the pyramid, it will fall down.''

Blatter said he had been boosted by support from UEFA president Michel Platini and the Oceania Federation.

I can’t help thinking that after the Triesman corruption allegations and FA decision to abstain from FIFA presidency vote this is just a little bit of pre-election posturing from Blatter.

Its possible, or even likely there is corruption, welcome to politics, a revote would just be more secretive in its corruption.

IT wouldn't matter to the UK, Fifa's mandate it world cup to new places so who gives a crap.

People seem to miss out the fact that, the World Cup isn't about being in the very best possible location, its a worldwide sport, with worldwide fans and Fifa think everyone should get a chance to host it.

UNfortunately the op seems to have forgotten about the world cup in South Africa, where people made much the same claims, that no one would go and it would suck. Ok, noise wise, yes, event wise, support, numbers no. European, north/south American people, they had no issue traveling to Korea/Japan, and had no issue traveling to south Africa, and they'll have no issue traveling to Qatar.

F1 events don't have a huge number of people going to them full stop, theres the little issue that, you have a several mile long track, and from any particular vantage can't see most of it. Its a sport better seen and followed on TV than live.

The only way to solve this problem with FIFA, and Uefa for that matter, is to break away from them.

There is no world cup without Spain, France, Germany, Italy, England, Holland, Brazil, etc etc, same as there is no world game without them, without the money that the big countries put in there would be no "small nation" football.
How the hell someone like Jack Warner and the rest of the crew up at FIFA have so much power is beyond me.

Are the F1 events there really that bad? I'm not a fan but have seen some truly amazing photos of it.

Qatar's a very affluent country they should be fine for 2022. Get over the fact that an Arab country's somehow got it.

Its got nothing to do with them being Arab.

Its got everything to do with a county with a population the same as Birmingham holding the largest sports tournament in the world.

How exactly is having the world cup in Quatar going to help develop football?

Not to mention the massive amounts of cash stuffed in brown envelops to FIFA delegates.

I thought holding it in the USA would have been better overall for football, the sport is going from strength to strength over there and a World Cup would help accelerate the rise of the beautiful game.

Literally anywhere else in the entire world deveolped world would have been a better choice than Quatar.

Do the people of F1 think that as well? Haven't the races been a success?

Nowhere else in the Middle East is it better for there to be a WC, maybe Abu Dhabi. It'd be great for the entire sub continent as a whole, and as mentioned before may raise the game to what the MLS is now.

In terms of how many people actually go and watch the event at the track?

No.

Same with the Motor GP.

thing is mate football federations are not just ment to be about the big guys , they are ment to protect and nurture all football right down to the grass roots. realy what you are suggesting is replacing one corrupt organisation with another in my opinion and to be honest the top part of the game in europe (champions league)already is heavly slanted in favoure of the club teams from the major nations, money talks.

Shouldn't have given them the WC in the first place. It would be insanity to try and play it in the summer, even if players didn't suffer from heat exhaustion we wouldn't get the same quality of football because the players would deliberately conserve their energy. They'll have to have it in the winter and extend the season of each country by a month or two.

The fact that qatar even got the world cup was just absolute bull. Just to get football more publicity and development in countries where football is not exactly the main sport even, yet snub england, where football is practically a religion.

A success in that they've brought money in for the right people at the top of the F1 tree.

Not a success in them actually being particularly well attended or supported by the local populations.
