FIFA World Cup 2022 Final + Play-off ** spoilers ** [17th - 18th December 2022]

I said before the Netherlands-Argentina game, there seems to be a narrative that Argentina need to win this WC for Messi. Of course, he's ridiculous, but it seems like at any opportunity commentators and pundits are looking to hand their wives over to him if he asked.

I just feel like I don't like where it's going. France were my pick before the tournament(didn't put a bet on) but as soon as we hit the semi's I just wanted anyone but Argentina to win it.

Argentina players sing Falklands song in dressing room celebrations​


Argentina’s players celebrated their World Cup semi-final win over Croatia by singing a song that insults the English and references the Falklands War.

The Argentina squad, which includes five Premier League players, was seen chanting the words to the song in a video posted on the former Manchester City defender Nicolás Otamendi’s Instagram page after their 3-0 victory.

Translated, the key verse runs: “What happened, Brazil? The shrivelling five-times champion.

“Messi went to Rio and clinched the Copa. We are the Argentina army and we will always sing because we dream of being world champions.

“That’s how I am, I’m Argentinian. The English ******s from the Falklands I don’t forget. That’s how I am, I come to sing and I follow Argentina everywhere.” The word putos, which is used to describe the English, can have homophobic connotations.

The communications officer for the Argentina squad was approached for comment but had not responded at the time of going to press.

Four of the Argentina starting XI play for Premier League clubs, and the video shows Manchester United’s Lisandro Martínez and City’s Julián Álvarez participating in a song that has become an anthem for Argentina fans.

Given the French links to Morocco you should be able to easily make that choice. :p

I supported Germany in 2014 when they played the Argentines and now it will be France, so Allez les Bleus!
 
France and Africa has always had a big connection. I think most of the Tunisians last night either play in France or got their big break in France. Quite a few of the French team are either half an African nation or have relatives from there.

Moroccan's ;) But yes, France has a large population of people from various African nations which is why whenever France play the likes of Morocco or Tunisia, French streets turn into a war zone. My french friend was sending me of twitter videos of absolute madness after the match last night.

If ther was a final France vs Maroco i wonder who will celebrate more in France ;)
