Am i the only one in the Fife area thats having connection problems?

I have been calling up BY everyday for the past week or so, and all i get is the same old crap, they see the problem itll be fixed or they try fobb me off to customer services who dont help at all.

Getting heavy packetloss in CSS which is annoying and tracerts show dead hopps in places, but yet BY say theres no problems with the network, lol ?

I've no idea what to do, apart from write to the head office, as the tech support just either lie to me or really have no clue whats going on.

Might appear a rant, but i would like to here from people in my area :)

same as you mate are you on UBR 4 its having problems at the moment since 16th. speeds varying wildly.

The estimate 2-3 days for a fix from now goto cancellations I just got 3 months free, but then I did mention I was keepin my cable even though I get free skybb max :p

They better fix it soon.

yea im on 10mb and im struggling to get over 200kb/s at around 3pm, come midnight im right back up at 1200kb/s though

Packetloss galore from 3pm onwards though its a pain in the ass.

How do i know what UBR yir on ?

Are you guys phoning up as much as myself? they make it sound as though its my problem, one of the today blammed it on my IE settings and was about to hang up untill i said, yir having a laugh...

the numbers free so keep phoning them its what im doing every day and then tell them not to bother with trouble shootin I know what it is is it fixed yet lol otherwise hel blame it on everything in your pc then say its your cat or hamsters fault :D

Does anyone know what the problem is? I keep getting told a differant story every time i call.

Im about to write a letter to the head office about the problems im experiancing.

same here trox random spikes of 200ms when tracert and missing hops.
I got told its an attenuation problem at my ubr causing my slow internet by there "2nd tier" which does sort of match up with my router statistics. :(

al give them the few days they said

What sort of problems are you seeing on a tracert?

Same problems as Davie18, dead hops and high pings now and then. Thing is i can tracert it now and then and it looks fine...

Still same problems with tracerts and odd packet loss, i checked my dads PC hes having the exact same problems but wont notice it since he rarly downloads and doesnt play online games.

If only.. if only! He would be as ****** as you! I get the same dead hops but no packet loss. Not in the Fife area but still seeing they dead hops which could possibly mean national problem.

BY had a ***** period for me, pings at constant 140ms for about 6 months after 6pm weekdays and weekends. Wrote a letter to head office and i got £150 money back for all crap service :)

If all the people have problems in Fife post a tracert to.. say www.bbc.co.uk and try to work out where the dodgy hop is :)
